Wellness by the beach

Back from a wellness stay on a beautiful tropical beach, just 2.5 hours by car from Bangkok. Barai is a holistic spa resort set in lush gardens, a great place to restore body and soul.

I find Barai very pleasant and personal. You can tailor-make your own programme of treatments, which I really appreciate. You can go all out for detox, fitness or weight loss or just eat healthy food and get into a relaxed and harmonious mood with massages, personal yoga teacher and so on.

The beach is super long so you can walk for hours, which is very nice for beach walkers.

I really like their beach restaurant a few steps from my room...

Located just outside the room area, the restaurant lies very beautifully on the beach. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. There is a very private feeling here. But guests can also eat in any of the many restaurants situated next door at the Hyatt Regency, just a few minutes away.

Barai is very exclusive - there are just 8 suites.

Welcome...

The suites are all spacious and elegant, each with its own private spa area and balcony or garden with plunge pool.

Lots of space

Huge comfortable beds

If you want to be with your family and children, you can stay at the Hyatt Regency Club next door (owners of Barai), enjoy all activities and still use the Barai spa.

The spa is elegant, with the feel of a temple. The architect was inspired by a visit to Angkor Watt.

Exquisite Barai spa

The Barai spa offers individual treatments like therapeutic and relaxing massages, beauty care, scrubs and wraps.  Recently they introduced 5 full lifestyle programmes of 3 to 7 days, for relaxation, weight loss, detox, fitness and a bespoke yoga journey with personal goals, complimented by a new healthy menu.

The way to celebrate

Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru is always a paradise of indulgence, romance and beauty. A dream spot when you have a special occasion to celebrate...

Our third wedding anniversary – and in the right place.

Our anniversary at Landaa Giraavaru on the evening 4 July was full of surprises...

Our absolutely favourite champagne!!! Compliments from FS

There is a very nice island shop where I bought this dress for our anniversary dinner...

Yes I have the new dress but the hotel also gave us local dresses to wear for the anniversary celebration...

Maldivian spirit

That evening we saw only each other. Magic – dining in a tent on the white sands...

And then...
Bedtime blossoming

Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru is a truly dreamy island...

Beautiful pristine beaches – just outside our villa

Beautiful breakfast area

My favourite restaurant at Landaa is Blu - Italian cuisine with a Maldivian touch

My favourite waiter at Blu

And my favourite travel companion!

We always enjoy a site inspection to see the latest developments and beautiful villas for our clients....

VIPs at St Regis

Now for the picturesque St Regis on the south western tip of Mauritius with a long sandy beach and a backdrop of Le Morne mountain.

The beach is one of the big attractions of St Regis Mauritius. The resort also has a very elegant plantation style with attractive accommodations and good food at a choice of restaurants.

On our last night on our recent trip to Mauritius I had a great dinner with two cool men:

Frederic Chretien,  the Resort Manager, and my lovely husband

Fresh foie gras
We saw some lovely accommodations...

A massage bench in the suite

Lovely management

The beach was romantic in the evening light…

One of the reasons our customers get special VIP treatment at St Regis Mauritius is the tireless efforts of resort manager Frederic and Director of Sales Davina. After our trip - we met Davina again at ILTM to discuss our even better cooperation in the future.

Nostalgic!

Nostalgically back to my favourite spot…enjoying lunch at Blue Marlin on my recent trip to Mauritius.

This restaurant is at the lovable family hotel Paradis on Le Morne peninsula. Next door is sister hotel Dinarobin, another favourite that has pleased our elite clients for over 20 years. Between them they share eight restaurants and great facilities..

Watching the boats and waterskiing at Paradis:

Paradis is such an active hotel and has such stunning sunsets. Will always love it!

Now for some news…

The newly renovated rooms at Paradis are very spacious with big terraces

At  Dinarobin lunch on the beach is a must...

So is a visit to the spa – a must!

Later we dined divinely at Umami. Great food. Japanese/Asian crossover.

Finally, there is always time for tennis...

Deepak is the best trainer - he has been at Paradis for more than 15 years

Indian Ocean charm

Continuing my catch-up visit to subtropical Mauritius. As warm and hospitable as ever…

Shanti Maurice lies on the south east coast of the island, an unspoilt area within reach of hills and rainforests. The resort has a curve of golden beach and a calm pastel lagoon, but there is also a stretch where the Indian Ocean thunders on the reef.

Shanti's golden beach

At the Presidential Villa you get the best of both worlds – the sound of the waves and total pampering at home in the villa.

View from the Presidential Villa

Lunch with a view in your own gazebo
Table all set

At the Fish Shack, there is a rustic, barefoot ambience, the sound of waves, and the aroma of barbecue. At the Rum Shed taste the Creole flavours of Mauritius...

The organic garden is part of the secret of the cuisine…

And the people are the secret of the hospitality...
