Rosewood at F12

Rosewood is one of my favourite brands, bringing tranquil elegance to beautiful surroundings. We had a lovely evening with their representatives  in Stockholm, sharing some local Scandinavian style and produce at restaurant F12.

Truly laid back...

GoldenEye resort. Relaxed as you can only get on Jamaica. Laid back as if there is no stress in the world...

These were the words of Linda Isberg, one of my valued sales consultants, after a stay at GoldenEye resort on the island of reggae. She found that GoldenEye is a perfect place for honeymooners with its simply chic decor and gorgeous surroundings. And just the place for sipping cocktails that are shaken (and not stirred) – it is here many of the James Bond novels were written by author Ian Fleming.

I am happy that we at Select have been given an exclusive contract for this great property. Here I am meeting  with Scott Mercado the representative of Golden Eye in Scandinavia, together with Fredrik our managing director.

And here we celebrated our coming cooperation with  Golden Eye. This event at Select Collection offices was described in a  previous blog.

More for "Aman junkies"....

The news that has excited our Aman junkies: a brand new Aman resort opens in a few days time, the third in Europe. Select was one of the few tour operators that were offered a preview of Amanzoe, so we have already put up a Select travel blog on this new Grecian charmer. Maybe it is obvious, but the term "Aman junkie" was coined for those who want only one holiday “fix” – an Aman resort.

We have wonderful partnerships with many of the world's most exclusive hotels, and one of our very special partners is Amanresorts. We offer 22 Aman properties in our Select Collection, all the last word in chic charm and exclusivity.

If you have not yet tasted the Aman elixir…one of the following might make a good start.

See what we thought in our Select travel blog about:

The iconic Aman Sveti Stefan.

This lovely image of beach and medieval island of Sveti Stefan was
taken by Erland one of the well seasoned travellers
from our Norway office

If you write the word Aman into our search field on the front page of the Select website a list of Aman hotels will come up!

To stay at Sandy Lane in Barbados is a perfect ending to a six week familiarizon trip in the Caribbean.

I have visited seven islands, 21 hotels and 20 villas. It has all been very educating but also fun. I will now make a full report to all our staff in all Select Collection offices.

I can promise all our valued clients that we are now the experts in choosing the right hotel or villa for you when traveling to the Caribbean.

Cocoa in Grenada

At Belmont Estate, approx an hours drive from the capital St George in Grenada, you will find one of the best chocolates in the world.

Here you can see, feel and taste how the chocolates developes from Tree-To-Bar

The cocoa fruit ready to pick

Slized in half

Ready to take the cocoa beans out

Packed in sacks to be transported to the nearby factory

Here in the factory, that I visited (after running around in the forest) the beans are going through a fermentation process for a week.

After that, the beans are put out to dry in the sun for an other week. In case of rain, it's like the center court at Wimbledon; the roofs that you can see in the background are pulled over the beans.

Here comes the bar - My favorite is the 82 % one

Mott is the handsome guy who is managing the project

Beautiful Grenada

Yesterday we had a full day tour around the beautiful island of Grenada. The island is very lush and green and the people are very friendly. Here you can see some pictures of a truly authentic destination, worthwhile to visit.

Pirate Bay on the west coast, the place where the real Pirates of the Caribbean once acted.

Grenada has stunning waterfalls.

And the water we drink is from the the falls.

Just a bar.

School children after their lunch break - brushing their teeth!

Walking home after school along the Atlantic cost. (East coast)

Fruitmarket selling snowice.

Most of the houses are very colourful and seem to be smiling.

Mon Rouge Beach in the south.
