RyuGin - Top-class Japanese Restaurant

Imagine a top -class Japanese Restaurant in Tokyo. The decor is minimalist and the dishes prepared as they have been for decades. Now imagine RyuGin. Run by chef Seiji Yamamoto, aged 38.

It has a luxurious interior in black and red. Ryu means dragon, and you cannot get away from them. There are dragon friezes on the walls and a dragon smiling from every coaster

Marc has made his mark

Marc Jacobs' special fashion talent is sticking his thumb in the air, sensing the zeitgeist and then giving it sartorial form.

Watching what he has created for Louis Vuitton and for his own label is enviable

His three favorite cities are New York, Paris and London. Many of us seem to have the same taste!

If you are planning for London, please stop by and see Vuitton's New Bond Street store, because it's being touted as the most luxurious flagship yet, with a giant glass staircase, an art bookshop and exhibition space. Yesterday Lufthansa held the official launch of their first Airbus A380-800. This giant aircraft will hold 526 passengers in Lufthansa’s configuration. The lower deck seats 420 passengers in economy class and the upper deck seats 8 in First Class and 98 in Business Class.

The new First Class is an exclusive environment with spacious seats in exclusive materials, of course they convert into a fully flat bed measuring 80 cms wide. Topped with a padded mattress, duvet and soft pillows. The new First Class bathroom is also a big improvement. It is spacious and elegant.

Lunch as a Starter

Our Airbus A380 event started in Lufthansa's Head Office and their boardroom where Lufthansa's Marketing Manager for Scandinavia and the Baltics hosted a wonderful 3-course lunch with fresh white asparagus, hollandaise sauce, new potatoes and schnitzel. We rounded of with strawberries.

Reachable

It's good to be back to daily routines. Daily routines create security. On the other hand it's also good to know that nowadays it doesn't matter so much where you are as long as you are reachable and you feel responsible for your job. This also gives security.

Each and every day (when in Stockholm) I'm walking to the office and it takes half an hour. For me it's the best way to start the day, a great way to clear your mind and body.

Evening in Altea

Just ten minutes by taxi from SHA you have the beautiful old town of Altea. Last night we were invited for drinks and dinner at the well known restuarant Oustau.

Alejandro ( The Markeing Director of SHA) is a lovely person, a gentleman and an excellent guide.

The old church of Altea was used for a wedding last night so lots of happy people were strolling on the streets.

Many bars and restaurants are hidden in old Altea.

A Local Shopping Experience in Spain

Instead of entering the gym at SHA this morning we decided to take a power walk to the local village. It's always interesting to stroll around in the supermarket and find out what the locals are shopping. Here are some of our discoveries.

Pablo Montoro, the Head Chef is creating very tasteful healthy gastronomy.

The SHA MADI is a harmonious meeting point and the menu is very attractive; from a great variety of modern macrobiotic food to wonderful mediterranean dishes.

I'm truly amazed to see the smile on the face of all my staff inspite of the problems in the world. We are no longer just Sales Consultants but also everyday professional 'problem-solvers'.

We are starting the days by analyzing the weather maps, oil leaks, airline bulletins (strikes etc) and I have a feeling we know more than CNN, at least when it comes to the needs of our valued clients.

The positive side of all that's happening in the world, is that our loyal clients have realized the real meaning and necessity to have a good Travel Consultant.

Launch of revamped Helsinki office

Tonight we had the official launch of our revamped Helsinki office and the opening of our lifestyle boutique full of beautiful items.

We celebrated with a press conference followed by a cocktail with many of our valued clients.

We are the world

I met some beautiful children first of May entering the traditional party event at Kalastajatorppa in Helsinki.

Kasper, the youngest one of these wonderful people who also are valued clients of Select, came to tell me all his great travel memories of Mauritius, Dubai and the Maldives.

It's lovely to see young people take action and it's lovely to see that travel creates memories and bridges the people around the world.

Serious Party

May 1 is the biggest day of celebration in Finland. It's not at all about demonstrations but yes to demonstrate that winter is over and we are all alive feeling like students.

The blue and white Finnish flag, a symbol of clean skies and blue waters.

My lovely friend, Marjukka Nyberg, the organizer of our tradiitional table at Kalastajatorppa. She looks and feels like a young student.

Joakim and Joanna are just great people to be with. They just bought a new flat and Joanna told me she is a great admirer of my interior design. Thank you!
