Petite perfection

I read yesterday in FT an interesting article by John Brunton. Paris, home of grand dining, is getting very intimate...

As I´m planning for Paris the suggestions are very welcome. Today the city´s resident foodies (including me) are more likely to get excited about a new breed of restaurants which are relaxed, simply furnished - and absolutely tiny

These places have a few as six tables, with diners crammed in together and the chef in full view, cooking away at the end of the room.

In a friendly restaurant called Le Timbre, owned by Chris Wright, even the waitress has difficulty balancing dishes between the dozen tables. One of the few British chefs to have made a name for himself in the city. Wright draws not expats, but a loyal clientele of chic Parisians and offers his own interpretation of classic French cuisine.

This summer's hottest address is; Spring, that opened three weeks ago by an American chef, Daniel Rose in a chic, minimalist space with six tables. A few other good options are Rino, yam'Tcha, Mystery Cuisine and Les Crocs.

Remember that not all places are open in August and many of them need to be booked advanced, so please always talk to our team
